Festive snapshots

While the holiday season is not technically over, we have been enjoying many festivities thus far.  With family (from near and far) around us, every day feels like Christmas!

All projects were wrapped up (literally and figuratively) by the time they needed to be, and I can't say I've enjoyed a more relaxing feast.  :)  Especially given that most of it was handmade.  Perhaps that added to our joy in a intangible way.

Once gifts were opened, the kids spent time playing together.  They received some really lovely presents - they especially loved the dress-up parts!  Aside from the handmade gifts I mentioned here before, we got the kids a set of Lincoln logs.  M has been really big on building houses since and even J will bring along her animals to play with the logs.  (S is more into the cleaning up or taking out and giving to us process.)  It was a great investment.

The photo above is of M playing with a model human torso he received from his Godfather.  I never believed a kid could be so happy with an educational toy, but this toy blew him away.  He is studying the human body now and can name most of the major system components and their function.  Thank you Uncle Alex!

And here is the promised photo of my little dragon/dinosaur.  He just needs a tail now.  (Maybe for his birthday?)

Wishing you a Happy New Year!
